C. Marshall Paul has more than 40 years experience in the pharmaceutical and market research industry and is president of ACNielsen HCI. In this capacity, Mr. Paul is responsible for growing and positioning the company for future success.

In 1982, Mr. Paul built a new company (HCI, Inc.), acquiring MEDIA-CHEK® as the first major audit. Since that time, HCI developed Campaign Tracking System™ (CTS™) to evaluate sales response to major forms of promotion. In November 1997, HCI was acquired by VNU and merged with its subsidiary PERQ Research. Mr. Paul became chairman of the new entity-PERQ/HCI Research Corp. In January 2002, Mr. Paul was appointed president of ACNielsen HCI, a new company formed to help design and market the initiatives of other VNU subsidiaries, including HCI, a national pharmaceutical promotion research organization and a recognized leader in physician and consumer promotion planning, measurement and analysis to the pharmaceutical industry.

Prior to starting HCI, Inc., Mr. Paul was a senior analyst in the consulting division of Lea Associates and was later promoted to vice president of long range planning and new product development when the company was acquired by IMS. Subsequently, Mr. Paul was promoted to president of its communications division.

Mr. Paul started his career in 1962 as a marketing analyst for Merck & Co., Inc.

Mr. Paul graduated from Dickinson College and has a bachelor of science degree in Economics. He is a member of the Healthcare Marketing and Communications Council (HMCC) and the Pharmaceutical Marketing Research Group (PMRG).
